The layout is a approximation in HO scale of the Western Maryland in and about the Hagerstown, MD area in the 1980s. Chessie colors were starting to encroach and Conrail was starting repaint their fleet. The layout is my rendition of the WM as I experienced it as young adult. The Chessie System had taken firm control by then and the WM corporate identity was slowly being diminished before my eyes.
